Flat two-strand twist up-do(N.B.C)

So... This is my latest style.  I had fun creating this two strand twisted up-do for my 15 yr. old neice who is in her natural hair transitioning stage, she's almost 100% there. Only about 2 inches of relaxed hair remain. Which we'll probably be doing away with at our next appointment. She's so cool!
To create this look, I...

DEEP CONDITIONED, WASHED & CONDITIONED:
Step 1. Homemade Deep conditioning treatment. I mixed Aubey's Blue Camelia Hydrate conditioner, Treseme Naturals conditioner, honey(humectant), olive oil, Coconut oil, grapeseed oil, almond oil.
Step 2. Parted dry hair into 4 big sections.
step 3. section off 1 of the 4 big sections at a time, parting  into smaller 1/2 inch sections.  Start finger applying conditioner to each 1/2 inch section at a time. (Like applying relaxer for those that remember. Lol) finger detangle at the same time. This helps to keep hair smoothed
Step 4. Smooth Deep Conditioner into each section of hair until hair is fully coated/ saturated.
Step 5. Cover hair with plastic cap & (steamy hot towel or dryer- optional) for 20-30 minutes.
Step 6. Rinse hair by 1 section at a time if possible. This keeps hair detangled and easy to manage.
Step 7. Washed hair 1x with Trader Joes(tj) invigorating, tingling peppermint shampoo (she had itchy, flaky scalp)
Step 8. Conditioned with Aubrey's Blue Camelia Hydrate conditioner
Step 10. Finger comb/ comb conditioner thru hair
Step 11. Rinse lightly with cool water. Leaving a little bit of conditioner on ends of hair.
Step 12. Microfiber towel blot hair or t-shirt blot hair  ( I don't use regular bath towels because they over dry the hair and can leave little lint balls

 STYLING AIDS & STYLING
Step 1. Apply Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter, Trader Joes (tj) Organic Coconut oil to each section of hair, smoothing all over.
Step 2. Begin reparting hair to get set for this style. Start by making a triangle part that extends about 2 inches up and away from each temple and point meets at the top/ middle portion of head. Section this off for later.
Step 3. Part remaining hair into two sections. Drag comb straight down middle of head to nape, starting from the point of the triangle in your previously parted, now section off hair.
Step 4. Section off hair on left side for later.
Step 5. Begin with hair on the right side of head. Using the part from the front sectioned off hair as a guide, begin to make small 2cm(optional depending on desired size of flat two strand twist) parts that extend back to top/middle part of head. Complete this process of twisting toward the middle until whole right side is complete. I applied a little tj organic Coconut oil to scalp and hair & Mygel by Joie to the hair down to the ends. ( for a hold that looks smooth & shiny.  No fly aways).
Step 6. Repeat process for step 5 on left side of head.
Step 7. Remember the front sectioned off hair? Now is the time we use it.
I added synthetic hair to the ends of all her twist including each individual two strand twist for length and thickness in this section.
Step 8. Starting from the top/middle portion, drag comb across making blocks of hair that are like 4cmx4cm. Continue this individual brick pattern until the whole front section is done in this manner. Ending up with about 9-12 individual two strand twist.
Step 9. Time to style twist. I did a criss cross pattern by overlapping twist from right to left, starting from nape and pinning in place once I reach the top of head. I took the ends of the criss crossed section and wrapped it around my hand in a loop and placed & pinned them off to the right side of head in a swirled ball pattern.
Step 10. Take most of individual twist from front section (leaving about 3-4 out) and make 1 big flat twist drooping across forehead going back to meet the 1st pinned up Swirled bun. Pin those ends into a swirled bun next to it. Then take the remaining front twist and droop down on forehead, pinning the ends into a loose side bun
Step 11. All together there should b 2 swirled buns & 1loose bun, going to the side of head.
Step 12. See pics below. Enjoy Fam!
